Tournament & Wallet Terms

Effective Date: March 24, 2026 — Version 1.0

These Tournament & Wallet Terms ("Tournament Terms") are a supplement to the Terms of Service. By entering any tournament or using the wallet features on Gravity Brackets, you agree to these additional terms. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the main Terms of Service.

1. Eligibility for Tournaments

1.1 Free Tournaments

Any registered Gravity Brackets user who meets the general platform eligibility requirements (age 13+, verified account) may enter free tournaments. Hosts may impose additional restrictions such as PR range, platform, or region requirements.

1.2 Paid Tournaments

You must be at least 18 years old to enter any tournament with a cash entry fee or cash prize. By entering a paid tournament, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and that participating in paid skill-based competitions is legal in your jurisdiction.

1.3 Geographic Restrictions

Paid tournaments are not available to residents of the following U.S. states where skill-based prize competitions face legal restrictions: Arizona, Hawaii, Iowa, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, and South Dakota. We may update this list as laws change. You are responsible for complying with your local laws regarding skill-based competitions.

Geo-blocked states (paid tournaments): AZ, HI, IA, MS, MT, NV, SD

1.4 Account Requirements

To enter tournaments, you must have a linked and verified Epic Games account. Additional requirements may apply per-tournament, including minimum completed matches on the platform (at least 5 for hosting), PR range restrictions, and platform restrictions set by the tournament host.

2. Tournament Structure & Formats

Gravity Brackets offers single elimination, double elimination, and round robin tournament formats. Tournaments may be solos (1v1) or duos (2v2). The host selects the format, game mode, and other settings at creation time. By registering for a tournament, you agree to compete under the selected format and rules.

2.1 Hosting Tiers

Tournaments are organized under three hosting tiers: User-Created (1.0x RP multiplier), Community-Org (1.25x RP multiplier), and Platform-Run Official events (1.5x RP multiplier). The hosting tier determines the RP reward multiplier, visibility, and maximum player count. The bracket engine, registration, check-in, match reporting, and dispute resolution are identical across all tiers.

2.2 Duos

In duos tournaments, a captain registers and invites one partner. Both players must check in individually. If either player fails to check in, the duo is removed from the bracket. Both players in a winning duo receive the full RP award (not split). A duo is treated as a single bracket slot for all purposes.

3. Registration, Check-In & Forfeits

3.1 Registration

By registering for a tournament, you commit to being available to compete at the scheduled start time. When the registration cap is reached, additional signups are placed on a waitlist and promoted in order if a registered player withdraws or fails check-in.

3.2 Check-In

You must check in during the check-in window (default: 15 minutes before the tournament starts) to confirm your attendance. Failure to check in results in automatic removal from the bracket. For paid tournaments, your entry fee will be refunded if you fail to check in before the bracket is generated.

3.3 Forfeits & No-Shows

If you fail to report a match result or respond to your opponent within 30 minutes of a round starting, you will be auto-forfeited. If a round stalls for 45 minutes with no reported results from either player, the host may manually resolve the match. A 4-hour hard cap applies to the entire tournament — any unresolved matches after 4 hours may be adjudicated by the host or system.

3.4 Withdrawal After Bracket Generation

If you withdraw or abandon a tournament after the bracket has been generated, your opponent receives a walkover (automatic advancement). For paid tournaments, entry fees are not refunded after bracket generation except as described in Section 6 (Refunds).

4. Match Reporting & Disputes

Both players (or one player per team in duos) must report the match result. If both reports agree, the result is finalized. If reports conflict, a dispute is opened.

4.1 Dispute Resolution

The tournament host resolves disputes by reviewing available evidence (screenshots, match replays, player reports). If the host is a participant in the disputed match, the dispute is automatically escalated to platform administrators. Host decisions are final for free tournaments. For paid tournaments, you may appeal a host decision to platform support within 24 hours of the decision.

4.2 Evidence

You are encouraged to capture screenshots or recordings of your matches. In the event of a dispute, players who provide evidence are more likely to receive a favorable resolution.

5. Wallet & Payments

5.1 Payment Processor

Tournament entry fees, prize payouts, and wallet transactions are processed through our third-party payment partner (Dots). By using the wallet feature, you agree to the payment processor's terms of service in addition to these terms. Gravity Brackets does not directly hold or store your payment credentials.

5.2 Wallet Deposits

You may deposit funds into your Gravity Brackets wallet using supported payment methods. Deposits are processed in U.S. dollars. Minimum deposit: $5.00. Maximum wallet balance: $500.00. Deposits may take up to 24 hours to process depending on your payment method.

5.3 Wallet Withdrawals

You may withdraw available funds from your wallet at any time, subject to identity verification requirements for withdrawals over $50.00. Minimum withdrawal: $5.00. Withdrawals are processed within 3–5 business days. We reserve the right to delay withdrawals pending investigation of suspicious activity, potential fraud, or violations of these terms.

5.4 Entry Fees & Rake

When you enter a paid tournament, the entry fee is deducted from your wallet balance. A platform fee ("rake") is applied to each paid tournament's prize pool:

Free tier: 20% rake on paid tournament prize pools

Pro subscribers: 10% rake on paid tournament prize pools

The rake is deducted from the total prize pool before distribution to winners. For example, a 16-player tournament with a $10 entry fee generates a $160 pool. At 20% rake, $128 is distributed to winners and $32 is retained by the platform.

5.5 Prize Distribution

Prize payouts are credited to the winner's wallet automatically upon tournament completion and result finalization. Standard payout structures are: 1st place receives the full prize pool for tournaments with fewer than 8 entrants; for 8+ entrants, 1st receives 70% and 2nd receives 30%. Hosts of Platform-Run and Community-Org tournaments may define custom payout structures within these constraints. Prizes are credited within 1 hour of tournament completion.

5.6 Currency

All monetary amounts on Gravity Brackets are in U.S. dollars (USD). Wallet balances, entry fees, and prize payouts are all denominated in USD.

6. Refunds

6.1 Tournament Cancellation

If a tournament is cancelled by the host or system before the bracket is generated (e.g., insufficient players at check-in), all entry fees are automatically refunded to participants' wallets in full.

6.2 Tournament Cancellation Mid-Event

If a tournament is cancelled by the host after the bracket has been generated but before completion, entry fees are refunded to all participants who have not yet been eliminated. Eliminated participants are not refunded. If the cancellation occurs before any matches have been played, all participants are refunded.

6.3 No Refunds After Completion

Once a tournament is completed and results are finalized, entry fees are not refundable. Prize distributions are final.

6.4 Voluntary Withdrawal

If you voluntarily withdraw from a paid tournament after the bracket has been generated, your entry fee is not refunded. If you withdraw before the bracket is generated (during registration), your entry fee is refunded in full.

7. Reputation Points (RP) in Tournaments

Tournaments award Reputation Points (RP) based on your placement, the number of participants, and the hosting tier multiplier. The formula is: min((base_rp + (player_count × bonus)) × multiplier, 500). RP earned from tournaments feeds into the same seasonal leaderboard as RP from wagers. RP has no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash.

8. Season Championship

Each competitive season, the top 16 players on the leaderboard qualify for the Season Championship. The Season Championship prize pool is funded by 15% of the platform's tournament rake over the course of the season. Qualification, format, and prize details for each Season Championship will be announced at least 14 days before the event. By participating in tournaments and appearing on the leaderboard, you consent to being eligible for Season Championship selection.

9. Wager-to-Tournament Pipeline

Gravity Brackets rewards consistent wager performance with tournament entry credits:

5 wager wins in 7 days: $5.00 tournament entry credit

10 consecutive wager wins: $10.00 tournament entry credit

Top 10 weekly leaderboard: Free entry to the next Official event

Tournament entry credits expire 30 days after being earned. Credits can only be applied to tournament entry fees and cannot be withdrawn as cash. Credits are non-transferable.

10. Social Credits

Social Credits are earned through clip submissions, UTM referral sharing, and other community contributions. Social Credits can be redeemed for free tournament entries. Social Credits have no monetary value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and cannot be exchanged for cash. We reserve the right to modify the Social Credits earning rates, redemption values, or program rules at any time.

11. Pro Subscription

Gravity Brackets offers a Pro subscription at $4.99/month. Pro subscribers receive a reduced rake (10% vs. 20%), priority tournament registration, and additional platform features. Pro subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Pro benefits apply only while the subscription is active. Refunds for partial billing periods are not available.

12. Anti-Manipulation & Fair Play

The following actions are strictly prohibited in tournaments and will result in immediate disqualification and potential account suspension or permanent ban:

Smurfing: Using alternate accounts to enter tournaments below your skill level to gain an unfair advantage.

Collusion: Conspiring with another participant to predetermine match outcomes, share information, or otherwise undermine competitive integrity.

Bracket Manipulation: Intentionally losing or manipulating results to influence bracket positioning, seeding, or prize distribution.

Match Fixing: Agreeing with an opponent to produce a specific match result for any reason.

Multi-Accounting: Entering the same tournament with multiple accounts, or having another person play on your account.

Intentional No-Shows: Registering for tournaments with no intent to compete, particularly in paid events, to manipulate bracket structure.

We may use automated detection, manual review, and community reports to identify these behaviors. Penalties include forfeiture of prizes, RP clawback, wallet freezing, and permanent platform bans.

13. Tax Responsibility

You are solely responsible for any tax obligations arising from tournament prizes or wallet withdrawals. Gravity Brackets may be required to report prize winnings to tax authorities. For U.S. users, if your total prize winnings exceed $600 in a calendar year, we may require you to provide a W-9 form and will issue a 1099-MISC. Consult a tax professional regarding your specific obligations.

14. Limitation of Liability for Tournaments

IN ADDITION TO THE GENERAL LIMITATION OF LIABILITY IN THE TERMS OF SERVICE, GRAVITY BRACKETS AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR: (A) TOURNAMENT OUTCOMES, RESULTS, OR PLACEMENT DECISIONS; (B) DISPUTES BETWEEN PARTICIPANTS; (C) TECHNICAL ISSUES AFFECTING TOURNAMENT PLAY (SERVER OUTAGES, LATENCY, DISCONNECTS); (D) LOSSES ARISING FROM ENTRY FEES PAID OR PRIZES NOT WON; (E) ERRORS IN BRACKET GENERATION, SEEDING, OR MATCH SCHEDULING; (F) ACTIONS TAKEN BY TOURNAMENT HOSTS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR TOURNAMENT-RELATED CLAIMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE ENTRY FEE PAID FOR THE SPECIFIC TOURNAMENT AT ISSUE.

15. Changes to Tournament Terms

We may update these Tournament Terms at any time. Material changes (including changes to rake percentages, refund policies, or geographic restrictions) will be communicated through the service and will require re-acceptance before you can enter new tournaments. Your continued participation in tournaments after non-material changes constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Tournament Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of California. Disputes related to tournaments, prizes, or wallet transactions follow the same binding arbitration and class action waiver provisions in the main Terms of Service (Section 14).
